In many of my short little movie reviews, I like to draw a broader point. But there’s none with THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD. A bunch of people fight in various Western European cities, there’s a lot of violence, some explosions (especially towards the end). It’s not shot as well as the John Wick movies, and the special effects aren’t to the standard that I expect in 2020. There are a handful of jokes that might earn a smile, but none that deserved a full-throated laugh.

You can watch the movie happily if you want to see things blow up. But I’m unlikely to remember the movie in a month’s time – it just seems like a vehicle to put Ryan Reynolds and Samuel Jackson on a movie in a boringly formulaic way.
