In 2025, the Isle of Man justice system demonstrated that if you say nasty and offensive things about Muslims, they will come down on you like a ton of bricks. They will investigate the case, they will arrest you, they will prosecute you, and they will try to convict you. They will do this even if you say such things to a single person in a taxi.

However, if you say menacing, threatening and villifying things about Jews – even to thousands of people online – they will do little. None of this relates to just criticising the policies of the Israeli Government. None of this relates to caring about the people of Gaza. None of this is “just” a drunken joke. As you will see detailed in the letter below, this relates to ongoing vilification and menacing behaviour towards Jews in the Isle of Man.

This open letter to the Minister for Justice and the Attorney-General is a call to action. We need a public, independent and comprehensive investigation into antisemitism in the Isle of Man, and the Government needs to take action to combat the evil of antisemitism in the Isle of Man. Words are not enough.

Examples of two-tier policing in the Isle of Man
