Speaking to Manx Radio the other day, I said:

“I think that we should have a parliament which is democratically elected. And I think that the people of the Isle of Man should be in charge of who serves them in public office, who serves them in Parliament. I think that’s a pretty basic and sensible principle and I think it is really disappointing to see politicians try and get in through the backdoor. I don’t think that’s that’s decent.”

“It’s really important to remember how fortunate this community is, and how humble we should be in serving the people of the Isle of Man and I think you just need to remember to get back to that first principle that that we need to remember. that it is a privilege and an honour to serve the people of the Isle of Man and that they are the boss. They’re the people who are supposed to be in charge. You know, we live in a democracy with that principle. And I think that once you start with that principle that the people of the Isle of Man should be in charge and you’ve got to listen to it.”
