Earlier this week, Tynwald debated when the Senior Race Day holiday should be – at its traditional time in June, or in August. This post isn’t about the actual decision, but this outstanding clip of a speech by Claire Christian, broadcast on Manx Radio on Wednesday:

Her questions are, in many ways, obvious to a person (such as herself) who has a history of having skin in the game. Because Mrs Christian has a track record of having her own money on the line in her business, she is used to wanting to make decisions based upon actual data, rather than mere hand-waving. Of course, many of the other legacy politicians have no such interest in actual data, but rather, vote with their feels.

Bravo, Mrs Christian.
