A triple treat of three events over the weekend: attending the reception at Government House for folks helping Ukrainian refugees; the Manx Hockey Association end-of-season awards night; and a wet, cold and tough afternoon on Sunday for the RNLI Tug-of-war.

Reception at Government House

Hundreds of people were invited to attend a reception at Government House on Thursday night in thanks for their contribution to helping resettle refugees from Ukraine in the Isle of MAn.

There was ice cream – in blue and yellow in homage to the Ukrainian flag.

MHA Awards Dinner

Saturday night was the Manx Hockey Association end-of-season awards dinner. For the first time ever, my team – the Castletown Men’s C Team – won a trophy for being runners-up in Division Two of the Men’s leagues.

RNLI Tug-of-war

Sunday was rough: we learned that the rugby boys were bigger and stronger than the hockey boys and girls. We did win one of our three “tugs”, but that was (fortunately!) not enough to progress out of the group stage. Thanks to Harford Homes for sponsoring the event.
