Last week:
Air taxi startup Vertical Aerospace achieved a world’s first this week, completing the first flight between two airports through public airspace for an eVTOL at the Royal International Air Tattoo in Gloucestershire, England.

That was only a 17 mile journey.
Ronaldsway to Blackpool Airport is just under 70 miles. Ronaldsway to Liverpool Airport is around 100 miles.
The existing aircraft reportedly has a range of 100 miles on a single charge:
Vertical’s VX4 debuted last year, with a 20% increase in the power-to-weight ratio that enables a top cruising speed of 150 mph and transports four passengers plus a pilot up to 100 miles on a single charge.

The range will need to increase to provide additional coverage in case of disruption. We are not there yet – but it is easy to imagine the engineering required for such trips in the next decade or so. While such aircraft are unlikely to fly between London and New York this century, they are likely to improve connectivity between the Isle of Man and the United Kingdom.
