On my recent visit to Melbourne, I was fortunate to go to three outstanding places for breakfasts, brunches, and lunches, with family and friends. I think each of these three options are outstanding.
Left Field, Carnegie

Everytime that I have been here, it is sunny and warm. The outside eating space is slowly growing, as Left Field seems to be swallowing adjacent parking and converting those car parking spaces into space for tables and chairs.
The food obviously looks beautiful, but more importantly, it tastes excellent. They are doing a whole variety of interesting and creative foods, and although I continue to be irritated by the complexity of the menu (I do not know what many of the things are!) it is outstanding.
Mammoth, Armadale

Almost immediately adjacent to Toorak train station, Mammoth is on Malvern Road, and makes excellent food. The eggs benedict on a potato rosti is excellent, not just for the perfectly poached egg, but for the most wonderfully crisp and perfectly crunchy potato rosti. Mammoth is outstanding.
Clubhouse, Malvern

Located on Malvern Road, directly opposite the Malvernvale Hotel, Clubhouse offers outstanding and creative food. I have found the staff to be delightful everytime that I visited.
